Szklarki waterfall and shelter “Kochanówka”
Szklarki Waterfall is the second largest waterfall in the Polish Karkonosze Mountains, with a cascade reaching a height of 13.3 meters. The stream falls down a wide stream narrowing at the bottom and turning spirally. It is picturesquely located in the exclave of the Karkonosze National Park, in the central part of the Szklarki Gorge, at an altitude of 520 m. On the left bank of the rocky threshold of the waterfall there are magnificent marmites. At the waterfall there is a small PTTK shelter "Kochanówka". Inside there is a buffet open daily from 10:00 - 18:00.
Admission fees to the Krkonoše National Park:
Discounts apply in accordance with KPN regulations.
Interestingly, the Szklarki waterfall is located in Piechowice, before the entrance to Szklarska Poreba, not far from the national road No. 3. Close to the waterfall, a large parking lot was built along the road - the Karkonosze National Park ticket office and numerous souvenir stalls were set up there. The road leading from the parking lot to the waterfall is comfortable (about 300m long), adapted to the needs of disabled people in wheelchairs. The road ends with a viewing platform.
